I'd say of those four, C is highest on the list given that China did something similar last year, except they created an assload of orbiting debris when they did it.

Um… Number 2? No, wait, that's what the country is in now thanks to Bush…

  3. Budd says:

None of the above. It was all just a ploy to get the thing landed in enemy territory where the cyborg aboard can spy and kill political leaders. There are likely multiple cyborgs. They did describe it as school bus shaped; this is likely due to the fact that it was a school bus, full of cyborgs.

Sadly, I think A would be far and away the least important rationale for the decision. Odds are, it would hit the ocean anyway, and what's another couple tons of poison in the ocean, right? Plus, if it DID hit a populated area, the odds are it wouldn't be populated by anybody really important (just some poor people or farmers). I'm glad they shot the thing down, and I'm glad the technology is there. It's just a little disingenuous to think it was a purely humanitarian act.

B, C, and D. A is the lamest excuse the current administration could possibly come up with; I think, had they not brought that into it at all, there would have been less flap.re tags: a very small one.
